Damavand House
The design I propose is specifically tailored for a young family with two energetic boys who enjoy playing with their family dogs and exploring the yard. Considering their active lifestyle, the house will be designed to accommodate their needs and provide a functional and organized living environment.
To cater to the family’s dynamic activities, the house will feature multiple entries. This allows for easy access from different areas, such as the yard or garage, and reduces the need to track dirt and mess through the main entrance. Each entry point will be strategically placed to provide convenient access to the most frequented areas, such as the toilet, kitchen, and children’s room.
Recognizing the importance of organization and storage, the design will incorporate numerous closets, shelves, and niches throughout the house. These storage solutions will enable the family to easily sort and categorize their everyday items, making it simple to find and access what they need. The closets can be designed with adjustable shelving to accommodate the changing needs of the family over time.
To create a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, the design will feature large windows and glass doors overlooking the yard. This allows the parents to keep an eye on the boys while they play outside, ensuring their safety while still enjoying the comforts of the indoors.
Additionally, the house will be designed with durable and easy-to-clean materials, considering the energetic activities of the boys and their interactions with the family dogs. This will help maintain a clean and comfortable living environment even during their playful adventures.
Project Description
The main challenge that arose in this project was the existence of an already erected foundation and steel pillars. The decision made by the men of the family to design and build the house themselves posed its own set of difficulties. As the project progressed, they encountered numerous issues with the installation of the metallic sloping roof, realizing several mistakes in the middle of the execution.
The presence of the pre-existing foundation and steel pillars limited the design options and flexibility during the construction process. Adapting the new design to fit within the constraints of the existing structure proved to be a complex task. The men of the family, taking on the roles of both designers and builders, faced the challenge of making adjustments and modifications as they discovered errors in the project.
The installation of the metallic sloping roof became particularly problematic. It required careful alignment and precise execution, which proved challenging without the guidance and expertise of experienced professionals. The family encountered difficulties in ensuring the roof’s stability, weatherproofing, and overall structural integrity.
Despite the challenges faced during the execution of the project, it is important to acknowledge the family’s determination and resourcefulness in taking on this endeavor themselves. It is an opportunity for learning and growth, although it may require additional effort to rectify the mistakes and ensure the successful completion of the house.
